Not That I've Been One to Constantly Applaud the Church...

But if they want to move their offices to 128, it really isn't the Mayor's business. Now, maybe I'd be more sympathetic if the Church were moving to a new cathedral, but that's just not the case.

The Bishop of Braintree has a nice, English ring to it. Ooo, that's Anglican/without the Pope, isn't it?

Moving out of town where the faithful center does look pretty dumb though. Sure, I may be in a different area, but I'll respect you and...I'll call.

Hilarious: "BC owns 46 of the 64 acres formerly owned by the archdiocese in Brighton and is planning next month, to the dismay of some neighbors, to file a master plan with the City of Boston that calls for using that land for dormitories for 600 students, a baseball field with seats for 2,000, and a residence for 70 to 90 Jesuits." The new landlord, BC, which is an arm of the church, is evicting the archdioces, which is yet another arm of the church. Well, as the Bible says: When the right arm molests, the left must slap it.

Hardy har. Anon brings to mind that amputation fetish too -- "If thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell." -- Matthew 5:29-30

There's a lot of plucking and cutting going on around here.
