Palin: Over/Under 7 Days

Here's the latest revelation by McCain's campaign: Palin's daughter is pregnant. It pretty much means this is baby number one, but it begs the question: how long will Palin last as VP? She supports abstinence-only education, yet her very own daughter has a baby at 17 out of wedlock. She thinks a fetus has more rights than a woman who was raped, yet would avoid hospitals for more than a dozen hours while in labor - all to give a keynote speech in Texas, then fly to Alaska, then skip Anchorage hospitals for driving 45 more minutes to get to a backwater clinic. That's truly a Britney Spears-like moment (since the McCain campaign likes making Britney comparisons).

I don't like peddling in mud - this is really a first for this blog - but there's too much at stake and, unlike the Swiftboaters, this stuff is actually true. Something fishy was going on and now it's out in the open. Not that this is anything new, but there's Republicans being hypocritical.

Here's the question, though: It's Republican Convention Week. Now's the time for them to throw her under the bus. Will she last the week? The over/under is 7 days. I'm saying under.

Update: 2 more thoughts. VP nominee Romney is almost inevitable at this point & this is Harriet Miers all over again. Thanks, McCain.

Your own candidate has suggested that the pregnancy of a teenage daughter is off limits. Grow up.

I've seen the Republicans swift boat our people for centuries. I've even had some of it directed at me in the past, in campaign work. It's a fact of politics. Honestly, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I'm not the one in this debate that needs to grow up. Politics ain't nice: if you can't take the heat, don't run for office.

"centuries" "our people" Who the hell are you? I remember you got hammered and frankly thought you deserved it. I found your u tube video to be very offensive.

I, too, found your video of Lt Gov Healey to be offensive. You failed to inform your boss of your past activities and you did get whacked. Politics ain't beanbag as the saying goes.

What the hell does "our people" mean? You really need to get out of Massacusetts for a weekend.

I meant to say decades, not centuries. "our people" refers to democrats.

My youtube video is neither here nor there. Nice try at the sucker punch, though. That said, feel free to reveal your identity. If you want to talk about matters of integrity, anonymous shots are low blows.

Your people is just code for screw everyone else that thinks differently than Ry. Nice try, but you are far too naive and need to live a bit in reality before your opinion matters. Too bad, you actually have some talent. Yes, your Healey video sucked. I actually liked the woman and I truly think she would have done a better job than the fraud that we elected. Over/under on when he leaves? I say 90 days in spite of all his promises. Kinda like the prop tax relief promise. Ouch!!

Everyone that Ry agrees with is cool. Everyone Ry disagrees with is no good. Openmineded--no. Silly and needs to grow up--yea.

Seriously, Anon, you need to get to know me better. I've had many friends who were republican - and my brother, who I normally get along with quite well, is extremely republican. One of the things that frustrated me beyond all else during that video fiasco was the fact that I get along quite well with republicans when it tried to turn me into something I am absolutely not.

You seem to be local. I'd be happy to have coffee with you to discuss the issues at somewhere like Panera sometime.

This defines McCain's judgement, but it's pretty good soap opera. At 44, did she look so svelte pregnant? And abstinence only and family values stuff goes along with a 17 year old pregnant? Too bad the kid wasn't a democrat who had access to birth control.
A Stepford wife as VP? Impressive choice!
Obama may have said the kids were off limits, but can you imagine if Chelsea Clinton had been pregnant? At least democrats don't condemn their kids to abstinence only hypocrisy.

footnote: isn't it curious how the anonymous right wingers attack you instead of commenting on the issue? A FAUX overdose maybe?

Ry:
Your unwillingness to understand and/or appreciate the fact that someone has a different opinion than you is a personality flaw. Too bad because you have talent.
