Barack's Grandmother: May She Rest in Peace

Anyone who could help raise such a man as Barack must have been a great woman herself.

It's a shame she couldn't have survived to see her grandchild ascend to the seat of this country's government, but surely she had the satisfaction of knowing that his legacy - as well as her's - will endure.

House Speaker Salvatore F. DiMasi is refusing to comply with a demand for records from the state Ethics Commission in its conflict-of-interest investigation, leading to a secretive legal showdown that has yet to be resolved, according to officials familiar with the matter.

After DiMasi rebuffed the Ethics Commission and refused to furnish requested documents, lawyers representing the panel filed a motion on Oct. 21 in Suffolk Superior Court to force him to comply, said the officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

Tomorrow we will have a new President, presumably Obama. With an economy in the toilet and with a rookie soon to be at the helm I certainly hope he surrounds himself with a few adults. His views on foreign policy are remarkably niave and his tax policy may hurt small business, the engine that drive the bus. Good luck!

If you've been reading my blog for a while, you'd have your answers. I have been repeatedly - and at great personal cost - urging people to vote against Dianne Wilkerson.

In Sal's case, I don't think the known evidence rises to the level in which I think he should step down. Do I think he should cooperate with investigators? Yes. But the job he's done far outweighs his hardball methods. Until and if more is known, I'm going to continue to support him.

Sal my good friend is a common thief. What say you about Rogers, DeLeo, Marzilli? And I challenge you on Sal. He has done shit. Plus he is a bully only interested in power and apparently money

Sal is a crook and we will soon find out who the "unnamed person that received a subpeona" might be. My money is on the Bobby D. By the way, Obama wins in a landslide. God Bless America.

First, do I really need to give an opinion on every single state legislator you'd like to mention? Marzilli is a loon and he's gone. Ya happy?

Sal's record is actually deep and impressive. It would be a shame to see him go. But, of course, he should be transparent and allow his records to be investigated. What more could you ask for?

I'm not getting involved with those fighting to be next-in-line. Not only do I not know enough, but it's rather pointless at this point. I'll let others tackle that infighting, because I'm a policy person - I'm not so much a horse race guy anymore. It gets old after a while. I just want to see results.

I hope that Sal turn over the records.
