If Sebelius is picked as HHS, I'll be pissed

I hope this isn't true. We have an honest-to-goodness chance of capturing a US Senate seat in Kansas, from a widely liked and successful Democratic Governor - an extreme rarity in a state like Kansas. Why on earth would we take her out of this opportunity to throw her at HHS, to sell universal health care? Aren't there a hundred other people just as qualified (more so?) who could competently sell health care? I know CoS Rahmbo doesn't like Howard Dean, but better him than lose a golden opportunity for a Kansas Senate seat - which would all but insure a 60+++ Senate majority in 2010.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad Obama's in office, but sometimes the guy just makes me scratch my head. Sebelius in the Senate would be far more beneficial to his agenda than having her at HHS. We don't need a cabinet filled with All Stars; competent, effective and successful people willing to push forward the Democratic agenda is damn near good enough.

Word. Funny how the main selling point on Daschle was that he knew the players in Congress, and could maneuver the legislation through. I don't see how the importance of being a Congressional insider favors a governor of Kansas for the post.

He wants Cool People in his cabinet. I'm not opposed to that, but with a gazillion frm. Governors, Senators and others of the like, I think his cabinet is star-studded enough. Losing Nap to DHS was devastating enough, quite possibly costing us a Senate seat and resulting in a conservative whacko taking control of Arizona. This is not only crippling Obama's 4 year+ agenda, but also the future of the Democratic party through people who were up in coming in tough-to-win states.
