A Suffolk Poll is Worth [Expletive Deleted]

They've been consistently wrong on everything, especially all things Deval. Remember when they showed a close race just before the last gubernatorial primary? And then just before the general? They're worse than worthless. They give opponents hope when there is none!

BTW - if you want my semi-expert analysis (well, better than the guy at Suffolk), I dished it out to jconway.

Ryan, I'm afraid you're going to have to do better than "They were wrong once and they're probably wrong now". The reason the Suffolk University polls had a tighter race in 2006 was because they didn't press undecided voters. Obviously there are no undecideds on election day. If you can similarly explain why Deval's poll numbers are not as bad as they appear by pointing out flaws in Suffolk University's methodology, I'd encourage you to do so. Otherwise you sound like you're just sticking your fingers in your ears going "LALALALA I can't hear you!"

I'm sure Deval will win if he runs again. Democrats almost always win in this state, the only thing that accounts for turnover in our political bodies are the indictments.

No, not really, Sco. Pollsters live and die off their past reliability. During this administration, they've continued to produce different numbers on a whole host of things than most other pollsters doing work in Massachusetts. Either they're wrong or everyone else is - and they're the ones who have proven to be wrong in the past. I'm not screaming "lalalalala" I'm just sick of giving a bad polling company ink.

Ryan, if you think this poll is an outlier then please share with me all the other ones showing that the people of Massachusetts still approve of the Governor. I would love to see them all.

This is flat out the worse or the worse of any administration that has blessed our state since WW II.

Why even detail the arrogance? It is now legendary. Deval Patrick is clueless.

Where is any evidence to contridict this public uproar as demonstrated by the polls? Even the Globe has jumped ship on this fraud.

Anon,

You're being hyperbolic. This is not "the worst" administration since WW2. He's done far better than anyone since, perhaps, first-term Weld. Patrick's been hamstrung by the worst economic crisis our country has seen since the Great Depression -- and it wasn't exactly good economic times before then, as only the uber wealthy were enjoying the 2000s boom years. The middle and working classes never saw a dime of those national profits. Patrick's not perfect - and I wish he'd done better - but these polls, at the end of the day, mean very little and can't account for the fact that Patrick will be the most organized, likely best funded person to beat in 2010.
