9% of Gambling Revenue to go to Horses

You know, instead of the kids.

The problem with government today isn't that these kinds of bills could conceivably pass, but that they are seriously considered in the first place.

That's because the horses have lobbyists, kids don't. For the past five years the Thoroughbred Racing group has been paying lobbyists to make sure they get a piece of any Mass gaming legislation. Too bad the people of Massachusetts don't have anyone looking out for their interests in this bill. Oh, that's right, our elected representatives and senators whose salaries we pay... I guess it's not enough money for them to look out for us as this bill only helps out horses, Indian tribes and slot machine companies. The people of the Commonwealth are getting screwed big time. http://wampaleaks.blogspot.com

Why are we supporting a Dead Industry with taxpayer dollars? Check the provisions when the text is produced. The 2010 version included more than purses.
