If Mitt Romney Only Had a Heart

When a man's an empty kettle
He should be on his mettle
And yet I'm torn apart
Just because I'm presumin'
That I could be kind of human
If I only had a heart
Mitt Romney plays around
With the lives of tens of thousands
In the state he rarely stays,
The sick are screwed over
As he gives a big F-U to
Deval Patrick and sickbays
I'd be tender, I'd be gentle
And awful sentimental
Regarding love and art
I'd be friends with the sparrows
And the boy that shoots the arrows
If I only had a heart
He'd be welcoming, bipartisan
And something like the Gipper
He'd give some deference
But he's on the road, belittling
The state he claims to live in
As he runs for President
Picture me a balcony
Above a voice sings low

(Snow White)
Wherefore art thou, Romeo?

(Tin Man)
I hear a beat, how sweet!
Just to register emotion, jealousy, devotion
And really feel the part
I could stay young and chipper
And I'd lock it with a zipper
If I only had a heart
The End.

Then again, maybe Mitt's more Smooth Criminal Tin Man than anything else:

Pride commeth before the fall! Don't worry, he'll get by with his last $150 million or so. Keep your eyes open. We have a special going away gift for him. We dug up some of his old sound bites and press releases back when he was runnign for senator against Kennedy, and you are not going to believe the hypocracy we have uncovered. This guy is all done in politics, unless he's running for mayor in a small town somewhere in Utah.

LOL Funny.

Deval's comments about the state being in more dire financial shape than he thought are ominous, though. I don't want to turn on the guy before he even takes the oath, and maybe his comments were taken out of context, but it sounds like he's potentially setting us up for not reversing these cuts in higher ed and essential social services. I hope he understands that he needs to deliver in order to maintain his support, we're not giving him a free pass on substance.
