Clearly, I can't list every hero we've had today - who knows what Representatives or citizen lobbyist pulled in those last two or three key votes - but we have to start with Deval Patrick, Sal DiMasi and even Therese Murray. Luckily, we never had to test out to what extent she'd be willing to go to in order to protect equality... because the three worked hard enough to beat it on the merits. Very cool.
However, I want to make special mention of these legislators, the people who changed their votes. It just goes to show, it's never too late to do the right thing. Marriage equality is protected - and it couldn't have been done without those nine votes. Thanks to the legislators who had the courage to do the right thing... and everyone else who helped them get there.

I think there are 22 Reps who voted against the ammendment every single time, they deserve some special recognition as well. Not sure exactly who they are, though I know one of them is Marty Walsh, and Irish Catholic from Dorchester. I'm sure there's a list somewhere.
