In case people forget (I did), the House didn't award the Cognos contract, the Governor did. It's pretty tough to pin someone for wrongdoing when that someone didn't award the wrongdoing in the first place. More on that here.
Anything else that's been pushed? Guilt by association; yellow journalism.
The wrongdoings should be investigated, of course, but people should not make assumptions or accusations on anyone potentially involved with that wrongdoing, because we just don't know enough about what happened to say whether or if anyone did anything wrong to begin with.

Sal seemed to be ok until he torpedoed casino gambling. Now, Rep. Flynn, slot cheerleader extraordinaire is out to unseat him. Will Beacon Hill never cease to amaze? When voters believe that some pols are bought and paid for, like Flynn, could this be why? RIP Greyhound Racing! Hold the Mass, let Carney retire. Voters have spoken.
If Sal has nothing to hide then why not cooperate with state ethics? Step aside and give someone else the job.

Were you born yesterday?
He's not helping his cause by stifling the investigation, but that does not mean he's done anything illegal or even wrong. My advice: allow the judicial system to do its job and reserve judgment until later. As I've said previously and I'll say again: the charges leveled against him are largely media-driven and are complete stretches at this point.
The charges are serious and his actions are such that he appears to be hiding something. He is acting like a criminal.
What charges? He's been charged with nothing.
Why do you love this guy so much!!??
I don't love him. I think he's done a good job. There's a difference.
Is Di Wilkerson guilty?
Yes. She was convicted in the late 90s and plead this August on multiple offenses, coughing up tens of thousands in fines and serving time on parole as well as a halfway house.
I've been all over the Wilkerson issue since August, when I penned a very significant piece in the Bay Windows.
But she is not guity of the charge that got her tossed from Senate
Two sets of rules
Anon,
I don't care what she's not guilty of right now. What she was guilty of before was more than enough for her to have been sent packing, which is exactly what the voters of her district demanded in the Democratic primary and then again, by overwhelming numbers, in the general election. It's not my fault that Beacon Hill was a little slow to catch up =)
Slow to catch up? What about Marzilla? The guy is a loon and he still is allowed to keep his seat. Read the Globe story today regarding Sal. It's getting harder and harder to supprot the thief.
From Today's Herald
You cannot make this stuff up!!!
"DiMasi also weighed in on Gov. Deval Patrick’s recent ethics task force, saying it may not be necessary considering the state already has the toughest ethics laws in the country."
Why is Marzilli still a Senator and why is Wilkerson still a Senator and why is Sal still the Speaker?
If Rogers becomes the speaker after Sal goes to jail (or house arrest) that will mean that the last 4 Speakers (all Dems) were throw out after being found guilty of a felony. Of course that assumes Rogers is elected Speaker over DeLeo or Flynn (ha, ha).
